Green Dome Land Art
360o experienceThe exhibition is all about land art; land art is emerged in the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s, in which landscape and the work of art are inextricably linked. It is also an art form that is created in nature, using natural materials such as soil, rock (bed rock, boulders, stones), organic media (logs, branches, leaves), and water with introduced materials such as concrete, metal, asphalt, or mineral pigments. Sculptures are not placed in the landscape; rather, the landscape is the means of their creation.
The exhibition consists of interactive games for all ages and for personal or group enjoyment. The exhibition also includes large scale reconstruction sculptures, creative workshops and fun photo booths. Other facilities available at the exhibition are seating areas, gift tuck shop and café/bar. The exhibition is suitable for all ages and there is something for everyone, we also accommodate for wheel chair access in all our exhibits and will be vital that your venue also accommodates for wheelchairs and is baby friendly.
The exhibition consists of two large green domes which are inflatable; in one dome is our main feature which is a video ‘walk into land art’. Green Dome intends to create a 360o experience all in one space. The 360o experience consists of one 360o room with optional seating; seats hold the capacity of 30 people. The 360o experience is a film based on the perimeter of the room which is projected on to the 360 surrounding wall to give an open perspective of land art. The film is ten minutes long and shows land art from a flying motion. The 360o challenges all senses not only will you see the film you will experience different temperatures as you fly through different climaxes, you will also experience snow, wind and scents. The film has no beginning or end it just flows all the time, which means it doesn’t matter when you enter the room. This is an advantage because there is no time slots for the viewing which means more people will be able to see the film.
What makes Green dome Land Art 360o experience so great, is it realistic characteristics, the simulator along with snow, wind, heat and scent machines makes the experience very surreal. Land art isn’t always permanent which means not everyone can view it; also land art is globally spread, meaning travel expenses aren’t always available for the viewer, the great thing about the ‘fly above land & into art.’
The other dome consists of a gift tuck shop, café/restaurant, interactive gaming and contains large reconstruction sculptures, creative workshops and fun photo booths. The dome has an area for younger children 1-4 years of age which they can play. The children play area is child friendly and is strictly only for 1-4 year olds. Parents are reminded to care for their child, but there will also be qualified child minders as well as first aiders to control the area. The Green Dome will also have toilet facilities including disable.
We intent for the exhibition to take place in Greenwich Park, my reason for this is the highest point in London .This is a great place for Green Dome Land Art for the following reasons. Firstly Its outside which is perfect for our Green domes because we want our green domes to stand out in the scenery of the surrounding area, attracting an audience and performing like a land art piece. Secondly it is in a key location for tourists.
This is the 360o room which will be located in the inflatable green dome; I did have a plan for seating but have changed it as I feel it will be more like a ride then an exhibition feeling free to explore.
I created this dome using Google sketch up 8 for a visual concept. I then went on to create a visual platform to communicate my proposal.
Green Dome Logo & Signage
The type for the logo is
Eccentric std
I decided to use this font and it elongated, I have made the 'O' in Dome green to visual symbolise The Green Dome.
For the Signage I have used the same concept and typeface making all words with the letter 'O' in green, here is an example.

I have used my Google Sketch up 8 images and have placed them on photos in Greenwich Park, to get an idea of how it will look in its surround environment.
